[the weather has been mild for a few days now, giving the ground a chance to dry up. This morning, Nephry thought this seemed like the perfect day to spend outdoors - it's not too warm yet in this village, and she has no real obligations here - and she even packed a picnic lunch to that effect. However, anyone who sees her headed off to enjoy that lunch will probably catch her in the act of a stumble or two, or even a shaky move to the nearest bench or equivalent place to just sit down.]

[[ooc: I know I failed at the clinic meeting post thing. School is getting kind of heavy for me right now but something will happen, promise.]]

I can't believe I was gone for nearly a month...

[looks up in surprise at first, then more gently]

It must have been difficult.

The most difficult part was realizing just how long I'd been gone. I regret that I was forced to leave Gelda alone for such a long time.

I assure you, she managed. [realizes that might not have come out the way she meant it. At all] Professor Nebilim is one of the most capable people I've ever met.

[He nods, understanding what she meant by that.]

She is a remarkable woman, and you were very lucky to have her as your teacher.

[the shadow that crosses Nephry's face now has very little to do with how she feels. It was hard on her, to lose Gelda - somehow no subsequent teacher was ever enough]

...It feels strange to say this, but...in some ways I feel lucky that she is here, also.

And it may be selfish of me to say this, but I am glad she is here as well.

But it is selfish to desire to bring her back to my world with me.

[averts her eyes. She actually would like to know that Gelda got to live somewhere. And she and Regal go well together.]

[For the next several minutes, Nephry has nothing to say either. She's fighting back nausea, if you want to know]
