I'm going to be out of the house for a while. I should be back before it gets too late.

[Nephry set out rather early this morning, actually, headed for the small lake. She's spent a good amount of time being sure that what she's doing is safe and isn't going to result in anything unpleasant. After she's sure of all that, and checks to see if anyone's nearby, she leaves the journal on a cleared spot near the edge of the lake and, slowly at first because it's been a while, heads away on a pair of ice skates]

You would have won, if not for this. [gently puts a hand on the offending skate, before standing and helping pull Anise up] I think you were ready.

Just balance on one foot for now. I won't let go, and you shouldn't stand on that ankle if you've hurt it.

[She's pretty unsteady, but leaning on Nephry helps a lot.]

A-ahhhh... [it hurts a lot but she's a soldier! soldiers have had it worse. no complaining here, no.]

[as long as Anise can keep that one foot under her, Nephry can guide them both over to the edge of the lake and help her sit down again]

[once Anise is sitting down, Nephry will take her own skates off first, so she can turn and help Anise with hers]

More than once? Really? [gingerly moving that leg - oh ow, okay, that was not a good idea. She winces, and pulls Tokunaga close to herself.]

Oh, yes, definitely more than once. Usually because I hadn't tied my skates tight enough.

You don't grow up in Keterburg without learning how. ...Though I doubt he'd want to show you until he had some time to practice on his own, just in case he's...a little rusty.

He'd probably complain that he's too old for it, anyway. [also, the image of a figure-skating Colonel is kind of - hilarious. Don't mind her while she giggles to herself over here.]

That's true, but he's always saying how much older than everyone else he is. Which is weird, because he sure doesn't act that way!

We should get back so you can rest it, then. Do you think you can walk with help?

I think so, but me and Tokunaga'll have to take a few breaks on the way or something. [because obvouisly the only help she needs is from Tokunaga.]

[Okay, time to get out of here, the snow is kind of cold. She'll be taking Tokunaga and carefully letting him grow to his huge, mecha size. It's a little harder, but it's manageable!]
