[a lone, slow-moving figure makes her way toward the village. She doesn't know that's where she's going. Just walking is taking up all of her concentration and effort. When she finally does sink to the ground, gasping for breath, she forces herself to open the book she's carrying]

It's good to see you've returned. Jade was worried about you, as was I.

I find some of that hard to believe.

Is that due to a lack of faith in your brother, or your former teacher?

[something undefinable makes her move, try to get up. She doesn't get far, falling back against the tree trunk with a cry]

[Gelda immediately leans forward to the girl back against the tree, into a more comfortable position.]

[Gelda will just shake her head with a smile. Another healing spell is probably in order now, considering Nephry did just take another fall.]

[Just as Gelda administers a healing spell, a Jade happens to be approaching on the horizon.]

[sees him coming, and she looks at him, but can't find anything to say]

[Gelda also looks up at him, though her expression brightens considerably.]

Jade. Excellent timing.

[Jade soon reaches the two females.]

How is she, Professor?

[she has to really concentrate to hear and understand everything they say. And she'll let Gelda answer, feeling not very qualified to]

Things could be better. The Malnosso don't seem to know much about stitching. Either that, or they couldn't be bothered to do a proper job.

I'd wager on the latter.

Can we go now?

As long as Jade offers his assistance in safely getting you back to the village, then yes.

Of course. [He takes Nephry into his own hands at this point as he takes hold of her and begins to carry her in his arms. Normally, he wouldn't think of expending such effort to carry someone, but... this was his sister.]

[it would be lying to say she wasn't surprised. But the pain from her remaining injuries overtakes the surprise and she says nothing, too busy trying not to cry out]

[There isn't much Gelda can do at this moment, other than accompanying them both and ensuring that Nephry isn't in too much pain. She can't use any big healing spells, because that stitching will need to be redone.]

[There's little either of them can do until they reach the clinic.]

I appreciate what you've done so far, Professor.

[she appreciates it, too. All of it. The walk, no matter how careful Jade may be trying to be, is very jarring, and she's exhausted, though. She tries hard to fight it, but soon she's out cold]

[Poor Nephry... Well, it's probably best that she's out cold. When she wakes up, she'll be in the clinic and hopefully feeling a lot better.]
