It's s-surprisingly cold today. Even the tea...

[he's been saving the vaguer prompts for after the direct calls for his help. But flipping back through the journal, this one catches his attention.]

Did you...did His M-Majesty...Emperor Peony, or Saphir...I a-asked them to talk to you...?
[it would embarrass her so much to sound like this if she weren't more preoccupied with going cold in the middle of summer]

Where are you?
[he can already guess. Some of these mushi might be too rare to be infecting at the rate they are in Luceti, but Kagebi can be almost epidemic in their range]

[wait. He's been very busy. Maybe he won't remember.] H-House one.

That's right. Heh... I'm a little tired, today. I can find my way again. I'll be there shortly.

He sits on his box across from her, gaze sharp despite hours of lost sleep.]
How are you feeling?
no subject
Cold.
[now that that's out of the way]
As though...as though I might be freezing, from the inside.

When was the last time you were near, or used an open flame?

......ah]
Did the flame.... heat the water, like a normal flame?

...But...the tea is barely warm.

Then it's entirely possible that you are experiencing internal frostbite.
That fire was really a mushi, called the Kagebi. They disguise themselves as normal flames, but they feed off of human body heat.

[that hand is against her chest again. Not just because it's painfully cold, this time, either. It should be clear from her reaction that she knows exactly how serious that could be, unless Ginko tells her otherwise]

I'm afraid so.
[then he gets to his knees and opens his box, pulling open a drawer or two-- retrieving a white packet of something. He hands it to her]
Drink this in some hot water, about a third of it to a cup. Recovery is slow, for this kind of thing... but if all you drank was one cup of tea, you shouldn't be in any danger of permanent damage.
[he stands, now with something like a long pair of metal chopstiks in his hand] Could you show me where you heated the water?

He gets up to take a look at it. He isn't familiar with the technology, but he's fiddled plenty with the apartment kitchens when he was stuck in town. So it only takes him a moment to utter a low] Ohooo....
