Well-meaning smothering is still smothering. [coughs once, rubbing her eyes] Could you hand me my glasses? His Majesty is intent on taking them every time I manage to put them on, but I tire faster trying to see without them.

Oh, sure! Geez, I can't believe he's keeping your glasses from you, too. Must be hard to have to try and see without them! [picks them up and hands them over]

You know, I could still try and talk to him about the whole smothering thing. Maybe he'll listen!

[he takes them because he wants her to sleep. But even with half-frozen insides there's only so much sleeping a body can do at once, particularly after it already had a full night's rest. She puts her glasses on with shaking hands and sighs when that headache recedes]

He's remarkably set in his ways about things like this.

That's just a nice way of saying he's really stubborn though, isn't it?

Are you sure you're okay? Anything I can get you that His Majesty hasn't already?

[her hands are pale, and cold to the touch, too. At some point she worked her way to sitting up, though, at least]

I'm told there's nothing I can do but rest and try to stay warm, and hope things improve.

That sounds really boring, though. I know I hate having to stay in bed all day.
