[At last. Peaceful, mostly sunny. No sign of the moon, or masks, or costumes.
...And Nephry is moving through the plaza at the pace and with the general stiff gait of an old woman.
Fitting, she thinks.
Near the fountain she sits on a bench, opening the journal on her lap. She's never been one to make announcements too personal, or to call unnecessary attention to herself. A chill breeze lifts a few pages of the book, though, and she smiles, writing.]
Winter is coming. [a pause, and then] It's still strange to me, sometimes. Even after living here for a couple of years...I still expect the cold and snow to be a more permanent visitor.
Do you enjoy the snow? Or do you prefer warmer climates?

[voice]
[Or longly. She's a slow walker today, it will take her more time than Jade might expect.]
[voice]
Still, Nephry wasn't really the type to arrive late to appointments without good reason, casual or otherwise. So the amount of time it takes her has Jade glancing up from the tomb he's reading with more frequency than is natural for him. Not that it was any amount of time to be concerned over, a few minutes longer if anything. Not a significant chunk of time. Perhaps he was just feeling rather impatient today.]
[action] and I love that he's reading a tomb
Hello, Jade. May I sit?
[action] Tome. Tome.... OR THERE ARE DEAD PEOPLE IN THE LIBRARY. I can totally spell.
Just mind that you don't trip on the gravestones and corpses and such.Jade eyes her carefully. The stiff way she's walking does have him suspicious, but it may just become a battle of wills if she's not going to speak of it. He will ask eventually, of course, but he'd prefer she breach the topic first.] You had something to discuss with me?
[action] Jade sees dead people. ...Totally possible in Auldrant.
I did. It's...it's about Luke, and what he was trying to do the other day.
[action] Not so much here, sadly.
[action]
I wouldn't call it trouble. But he did try to...to keep the moon from falling. What he was doing...I want to know just how powerful it is.
[action]
Hyperresonance can break down matter to an atomic level. To put it in perspective, the artificial hyperresonace that destroyed Hod was only forty percent of the strength of a true hyperresonance. If you set off a full-strength hyperresonance, not even dust would remain.
Although Luke is unable to control a hyperresonance of that scale, attempting to destroy the moon placed a great personal risk upon him and those nearby.

[action]
Then I am lucky.
[action]
[action]
[Just by grabbing his wrists though.]
[action]
That being said, you should now be aware that hyperresonance takes Luke a great deal of concentration to sustain. His abilities are unstable at the best of times. If you should ever find yourself involved again, I would prefer it if you kept your distance. [That last sentence is said a bit too stiffly, the words coming out short and snappy. He is not thrilled with the idea that Nephry could have been disintegrated mere hours before.]
How badly were you injured?
[action]
Other than some bruises from...striking the roof, I don't seem to be injured at all. ...Just in pain without cause.
[action]
Perhaps you should go over the incident for me, with as much detail as you can remember.
[action]
[Short story time! She goes from beginning to end, like a good little sister - seeing Luke on the roof, being unable to talk him out of it. Grabbing his wrists, and some burst of power splitting off. It hit a tree, a different part of it hit her, and she was thrown across the roof.
But there are no visible injuries where it hit her, even though she's in pain.]
[action] Feel free to correct me on this, because I'm not sure...
It could be a number of things. The best case scenerio would be a simple fonon imbalance. If it's something as simple as that, it should correct itself in time. However...
Have you seen anyone else about this?
[action] Sounds good to me! No destroying your sister.
[action] He wouldn't dream of it!
[action]
I trust her judgment.
[action]
She seems like an influential resident here. Are the two of you close friends?
[action]
Close acquaintances, perhaps, is more like it.
