[The Malnosso have decided to leave Nephry off in the forest northwest of House 1. The chances of anyone finding her there are slim, you see, unless they're out on patrol or know to be looking. And it's cold, and snowy - quite snowy - and she's been drugged beyond real coherence. The journal, though, is close enough to her for her to touch, and open. Anyone listening will here a few sharp coughs followed by what she must think is an understandable sentence. Except it's not.]

[Rena recognizes Nephry's voice and quickly runs over to her journal with a look of worry]

Nephry-san?!

[she says something that is probably supposed to be Rena's name. The end inflection makes it a question, whatever it is]

[Oh man, that sounds bad. Rena starts looking serious.]

Nephry-san...do you know where you are? Can you show me?

[how could she show her? Between the drug cocktail and her missing glasses she can't see more than greenish-grey when she opens her eyes. But to listen through the journal, there's no sound of water, so she's somewhere away from the lakes and rivers]

N...no. [she does at least manage that?]

[Hey it was worth a shot. But she does notice the no water thing. That narrows the options a bit.]

Don't worry; Rena will come find you, Nephry-san! I'm really good at looking for things!

[And she rushes around her room trying to find a blanket or something for her before leaving. Cold out there.]

[she mumbles something else, but it's cut off by more harsh coughing. Yes, very cold out there. The longer she's out there the colder she will get. And Nephry is very familiar with the dangers of the cold, but in no state to do anything about it except subconsciously begin to panic]

[Well that will definitely get her moving then. But Rena does have a knack for finding things. She's had centuries of experience in it, after all, even if she doesn't remember. So after a while of sprinting around the town, Rena will come across Nephry and runs toward her as fast as she can.]

Nephry-san!

[forces her eyes open to look at the owner of this voice. She still can't see much - some red and white in the greyish blur - but the hand resting on top of the open journal reaches toward Rena anyway. If she takes it, she'll find it's absolutely freezing cold]

[She takes it instinctively and the coldness of it is definitely noticed. Frowning and letting go, Rena unfolds the blanket she had taken with her, shaking it and putting it around her. Rena had been holding it very close to herself, so it should be fairly warm. She glances around, taking in some of the surroundings]

Rena's house isn't too far from here...do you need help standing?

[Rena doesn't really want to move her, but Nephry needs to get out of the cold. She's willing to try and carry her if necessary.]

[she can't stand. She's too cold and out of it. The blanket will help eventually, but she's already breathing hard and visibly shivering from the cold]

[Due to a double whammy of flu and Haruki, Minato is still home from school today. He's starting to feel a little better, though, so he's awake and flipping through the journal.

...That doesn't sound good, though.]

Nephry-san?

[the answer Minato gets is no better than the one Rena got, though still noticeably a question]

[definitely not good.]

Where are you?

[now, Minato, if she couldn't even get your name to sound like it should, what do you imagine 'somewhere with lots of blurry trees' will be?]

[Just checking. He looks down at the journal, unsure, before flipping to Rena's conversation and listening through it.]

Rena-san will be there soon. Hold on.

[even if Rena starts with all the usual places it will be a while. ...And you can hear her shivering, because it changes the way she breathes]

Nephry-san...

[why are you doing this to him. He actually shifts, trying to get out of bed, before the light-headed nausea that has been plaguing him returns in waves.]

[it's not like she'd be doing this by choice, you know. She opened the journal so that someone might hear her because honestly, it's cold and the cold is dangerous]

[just going to sit here and wonder why, out of the over 9000 Personas in his head, none of them have scanning abilities.]

[Rena's not very surprised. But she needs to get out of the cold soon. So Rena bends down and puts her arms around her in order to try and warm her up quickly.]

[any warmth will help at this point. She tries to shift to do...well, something, but her body isn't really under her control. And she asks another mumbled question]

[Rena rubs her shoulders gently, trying to get some circulation flowing.]

Um...Rena doesn't understand, Nephry-san. But it's okay! Don't push yourself.

[Peony is indeed looking - he has hardly been doing anything else these past few days. Right now he's actually searching the forest she's in, but he has no idea that that's the case. He keeps his journal open, and the moment Nephry's voice comes through, he quickens his pace. The fact that he couldn't understand what she was saying only motivates him to go faster. Please let her be somewhere near...]

[she does sort of understand Rena. The coughing continues, but she won't try to talk anymore]

[he will be able to pick up on the sound of her breathing picking up, and in it also he can hear her shivering, and coughing. But the lack of rushing water sound should be comforting - he's in the right area]
