[It was almost a relief, to hear about so many people going home recently, even as more were due to arrive.

It was too sad to mention, knowing that one of those people was Professor Nebilim. That she wasn't really returning to anything. Just to the completion of a sad tale of a boy who thought he should be able to do everything.

And now Nephry is lonely. She has been, off and on, for a while; she feels it especially strongly today. At first she tried cleaning the kitchen but now she's sitting there, chin against her hands, staring at the table. With almost half of the house away or out of commission...things are quiet.

In the silence, she turns to her journal for a while.]

Is "what you ended up with" some sort of choice he makes?

Some people were paralyzed in life, abused, accidents happened that ruined their lives. My siblings were murdered in front of me. Maybe it wasn't directly his fault that things like that happened to us, but putting us in an afterlife boarding school so we can live "happily" like nothing ever happened isn't something that's the fault of anyone but the person who made that place. It might not be all bad and it might be.. it might have helped people, but some of us just can't be okay with it. Especially not when we get attacked at threat of being erased for taking too long.

[Some of that is frighteningly sad.]

You would rather have a choice yourselves?

I'd rather let whatever God is out there know that we're not going to take it standing down.

I see. How quickly do you expect to succeed?

Depends on how fast I can get out of here.
