[At last. Peaceful, mostly sunny. No sign of the moon, or masks, or costumes.

...And Nephry is moving through the plaza at the pace and with the general stiff gait of an old woman.

Fitting, she thinks.

Near the fountain she sits on a bench, opening the journal on her lap. She's never been one to make announcements too personal, or to call unnecessary attention to herself. A chill breeze lifts a few pages of the book, though, and she smiles, writing.]

Winter is coming. [a pause, and then] It's still strange to me, sometimes. Even after living here for a couple of years...I still expect the cold and snow to be a more permanent visitor.

Do you enjoy the snow? Or do you prefer warmer climates?

[It isn't until she says the last part that Tear understands the desire to not tell anyone. Not only was the flow of time here so different from the way it is in Auldrant, but everyone told that when they would return home... Nothing would be remembered, it would be the same as if they had never left there in the first place. Their time in Luceti may not as well have existed.

But just because it would end up that way, she doesn't want it to seem like their time here didn't matter, either.]

What Luke is capable of...just how dangerous is it?

Did you know he was trying to use that power to keep the moon from falling? [Or maybe to destroy it.]

Yes, I'm aware he had that intent during the moonfall. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of this plan until he was already in the act of doing it.

... Nephry... [She had been so scared for him.] He doesn't know what using that power to such an extent can do to him...

[She's trying to smile. The idea of Luke disintegrating himself isn't pleasant.]

Perhaps there's some way to tell him...without revealing too much.

Actually, I think it would be best to speak to him about the events of that day directly. [But that was her personal opinion; she's aware of the unspoken agreement to not tell Luke too much of what happens throughout their journey.]

There have been consequences for withholding information from him before, and I'd rather that the consequences of those times don't repeat themselves again if possible.

[Hm. And isn't Nephry the one who decided to tell him everything about Jade? ...When it comes to his own death, she's softer, it seems. Less willing to say something that might hurt him.]

I understand. I won't go out of my way to tell him, but if it comes up I will be honest.

[She thinks all of it is something better heard from someone he's closer with - Tear, perhaps.]
