[At last. Peaceful, mostly sunny. No sign of the moon, or masks, or costumes.

...And Nephry is moving through the plaza at the pace and with the general stiff gait of an old woman.

Fitting, she thinks.

Near the fountain she sits on a bench, opening the journal on her lap. She's never been one to make announcements too personal, or to call unnecessary attention to herself. A chill breeze lifts a few pages of the book, though, and she smiles, writing.]

Winter is coming. [a pause, and then] It's still strange to me, sometimes. Even after living here for a couple of years...I still expect the cold and snow to be a more permanent visitor.

Do you enjoy the snow? Or do you prefer warmer climates?

It might be a warmer location anyway. I don't mind the walk.

[Nephry sort of does. But there's nothing for it other than to stand - slowly, carefully - and smile at Raine no matter what else she happens to feel.]

All right. Maybe I'll pick something up, myself. [She notices, though, that Nephry does seem a bit stiff with her movements. She knows from experience that there was soreness involved from the moon episode, so she wonders if it's a lingering side effect of that.]

[That is exactly what she will claim if anyone who doesn't already know happens to ask. No sense in exposing her foolishness to everyone, is there? And she did spend yesterday in bed.]

I feel like there hasn't been much to celebrate, so...I thought we might today.

[this is such a slow walk. Forgive her, Raine.]

[She won't call her out on it just yet, but she'll slow her pace enough to keep steady with her.]

'We'? Do you mean your household?

Yes. You are, of course, welcome to join us.

I wouldn't want to intrude if it's a private celebration, but I'll keep the invitation in mind.

It isn't. After everything that just happened...well, a "happy ending," so to speak, is something for everyone, isn't it?

It'll be a different change of pace, I suppose.

[Although speaking of pace.] Are you certain you're feeling up to walking this much?

Hmm. [Which was sort of a yes type noise.] I stop whenever I feel too tired.

Is there anything I can do to make it easier?

I am honestly not sure. Did you wake up stiff, as well?

Yes, but it's been better today. I could always try to use some magic and see if that eases anything for you.

It isn't for me. [She just doesn't really know what Nephry thinks about magic, and she always feels as if she needs to be extra courteous around her in general.] Lets stop for a moment, then.

[Mostly Nephry thinks good things about magic. Especially healing artes, as long as the person using them knows what they're doing.]

Should I sit?

That may be better for you, actually. [Now how close are they to the bakery? Unless there's a bench nearby.]

[Close enough that they might as well just get all the way to the bakery, really.]

All right. Just tell me where, then. [She's a little interested to see if Raine's magic can actually do anything for this. In theory she's injured like any other injury. But is it different when caused by hyperresonance?]

We're almost there, so why don't we sit down inside? I doubt that it's going to be overly populated. [And it'll be warmer, too. She's wearing a trench coat over her usual robes, but she may have to switch to a heavier cloak before long. And her scarf.]

[Nephry, creature of the arctic that she is, gets away with a lighter coat and boots.]

That sounds good to me. [It'll be a few minutes, still. Hopefully Raine doesn't ask for any further explanation.]

All right. Just take your time.

[A nod, a smile, and not so many more steps to the bakery. Nephry will hold open the door.]

[Oh don't be silly. Raine smiles and shakes her head slightly as she takes the door, indicating that Nephry step in first to seat herself instead.]

[It was worth a try. Nephry chooses a seat in an out-of-the-way corner.]

[Once she's in, Raine lets the door close behind her as she follows her over to the table. As expected, it is pretty empty in there during this time of day, at least.

Almost reminiscent of another time they were in the bakery together.]
