[At last. Peaceful, mostly sunny. No sign of the moon, or masks, or costumes.
...And Nephry is moving through the plaza at the pace and with the general stiff gait of an old woman.
Fitting, she thinks.
Near the fountain she sits on a bench, opening the journal on her lap. She's never been one to make announcements too personal, or to call unnecessary attention to herself. A chill breeze lifts a few pages of the book, though, and she smiles, writing.]
Winter is coming. [a pause, and then] It's still strange to me, sometimes. Even after living here for a couple of years...I still expect the cold and snow to be a more permanent visitor.
Do you enjoy the snow? Or do you prefer warmer climates?

The message heard over the journal cuts off his playing, though, and Dist tunes in quietly, reading and listening to the replies before he makes his own. It's only when he sees Jade's that he nearly chokes. B-B-Birthday?! It's Nephry's--?! Rrgh...he forgot. With all the madness happening, he completely forgot. Damn. Damn, damn, damn, damn, DAMN. He has to think. Come on, Saphir, what kind of thing would nephry like to receive on her birthday?!]
[Voice] - 2/2
Well, he can manage to play (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12pf5DHbRb4) something with a winter theme. When he's near the end, Dist lets the last note hover in the air, dimming down quietly to nothing.]
I do hope that suffices, Nephry. I'm afraid it's all I can manage, for now, for a birthday gift.
[Voice]
That was beautiful, Saphir. Thank you.

[To wish you a happy birthday in person as well as check to make sure you're okay from the moon madness.]

[And, as promised, Dist shuts his journal, exits Seventh Heaven with his belongings (a folder of sheet music, notes, and a book on how to properly maintain and construct a piano), and walks the short distance to the fountain. he should arrive in less than ten minutes.
Nephry's easy to spot, and Dist smiles faintly as he goes over. It's good to see that she's at least safe.]
[Action]
You've become something of a pianist.
[Action]
It was a great effort, yes, but I'm glad you think that way, Nephry. It's a shame I have to come here to play regularly, though...
[For now, at least. He had plans on, ah...obtaining a piano for house one.]
[Action]
Sit down, if you'd like. [there's room on this bench for everybody]
[Action]
[Even though he enjoys the praise he gets when he does. Too much, mind you. He takes the offered seat and flips through a few papers all filled with notes on music. He removes one and hands it to Nephry.]
I do it to occupy my time. ...This one is unfinished. I've yet to ask Tear for assistance in its creation, but the general tune is complete.
[Action]
[She takes the page and studies it, even humming quietly to herself a little.]
If not for the enjoyment of others, then why do you play?
[Action]
[Once Nephry begins to hum it, she may find the tune to be rather familiar. Tear must've sang it once or twice a few times - different parts. It's the grand Fonic Hymn. At Nephry's question, though, Dist pauses to take back him music and push up his glasses.]
To occupy my time, as I said before. And my hands, too. I cannot create fonmachines here to the best of my abilities, because the technology and resources are scarce, and I do hate to remain idle...
[Action]
Yes, you get into a bit of trouble if left to be bored for too long.
[See this friendly smile? She's only teasing.]
[Action]
For now though, he just huffs, ducking his head somewhat with a frown.]
Th-That's not true at all! I've never once gotten into any trouble whatsoever! [Lie, lie, lie, LIE.] Not when I was bored, at least...
[Action]
[Action]
F-Fine! But I've not gotten into any trouble for some time at all! ...Past events not withstanding... [He looks up to the sky, glad that it's not obscured by a glaring moon.] You fared well, I take it?
[Action]
Yes. I'm all right.
[Action]
Well enough to celebrate? I'll have to ask Anise to make a cake for you...though I doubt she'll do it if I ask. Perhaps one from the bakery will suffice. Your preference, Nephry? And I've still yet to get you a proper gift.
[Action]
[The smile she turns on him is hesitant.] The music was more than enough of a gift.
[Action]
Though Dist does quirk an eyebrow in Nephry's direction at her latter remark.]
There's nothing at all you would like? [A dress, a coat, boots, nothing?]
[Action]
[Action]
[So...here he is. What does he say? Fffffff social activities how do?]
[Action]
And if you wouldn't mind, I would love to hear you play in person.
