I trust much of the panic has settled by now.

There has been a Shift that displaced some of us from our homes this past evening. We should be prepared for the possibility that it will happen again tonight, but in light of the lack of serious injuries it seems the preparations for the festival, and our lives in general, may proceed.

Unless there are other complications from this Shift?

My, aren't we lucky, then... [That cynical tone in his voice is almost tangible.] Though I suppose it's better to have everyone here than everything. [Even if his last baby is still unaccounted for.] Are you in the house, Nephry?

[Because, you be frank, he's sick of talking to his wife over the journals. He wants to see her face and maybe hold her a little. Even though he was outwardly frustrated with this entire ordeal, Dist was glad most of his family was still here with him. He wouldn't know what to do if they were whisked away.]

[lucky her, she's already in the kitchen! Sitting at the table and flipping through the journal, trying to gauge the extent of the damage.

When he comes in she will rise from her seat, though, with a smile]

[Ah, much better. Dist smiles when he sees Nephry as well, much of his earlier anger and concern washing away. It was still there, especially for their adopted daughter, but for now he could just breathe easily and hope she was all right. She was a smart and big girl. She'll be okay...

For now, Dist will appreciate that the remainder of his family is still safe and at home. He closes the distance between himself and his wife, curling his arms around her waist gently.

[that is the best kind of hello. In return she puts her hands and the side of her head against his chest. A smile - this is where she feels most content - and a gentle sigh]

[Content with the response, Dist hums pleasantly. Oh, yes, this is very nice. He runs a few fingers through Nephry's hair and looks down at her.]

Good morning. You haven't made anything, have you?

I've started coffee, if you'd like any. What do you want to have for breakfast?

[she shivers a little - always does - when he plays with her hair. But it's a good shiver.]

[Dist smiles even more. Coffee did sound good, but he's much more interested in the beautiful creature he has in his arms. A slow smirk curled on his lips at her little shiver - he expected that reaction - and he just leans down to press a loving kiss to the corner of her mouth.]

Anything is fine, I don't mind...but I'll assist you today, if that's all right. Mm...you work too much around the house. Let me do this today.

[Meaning Nephry should relax. They had enough to worry about right now.]

That's very sweet of you. I insist that we make breakfast together, then. [like we did when we were younger]

Of course. What shall we serve, my love? [He presses a few more kisses to Nephry's face before pulling back to browse through the cupboards. What haven't they had in a while? Hm...it'd definitely be nice to have a big breakfast. It should the the children, too.]

[Maybe Ion will feel better after he's had a real breakfast.]

I bought vegetables yesterday. What about omelettes?

Excellent choice! Shall we begin? [He'll get out the eggs and start up the oven. Dist also checks for bread as well, which he's pleased to see that they have.]

[There's a growing boy in the house, the kitchen is always full.

Nephry gets out some of the best veggies for omelettes and begins to wash and chop them]

[Dist, meanwhile has produced a bowl and eggs, which he cracks and gently whisks. He adds a bit of salt and better to the liquid, turning on the stove and letting it warm up while Nephry finishes with the veggies.]

Will we need anything else?

I think this should be enough. If not, we can always make more.

[Nodding, Dist adds the liquid to the pan, which sizzles beautifully once it hits the hot metal. He waves Nephry over so to add the vegetables, before he folds the omelet over.]
