It's been quite a while since we've had such a wave of New Feathers. I'm sure the majority of you have heard, from friends or some of our more vocal residents, the basics of what life here entails. However, I would suggest that all of you who are able should read this guide. It should answer most, if not all, of your questions, and Ms. Sage has been kind enough to maintain and revise it in order to inform all new arrivals about Luceti. It's quite informative.

Those of you from Auldrant, I hope you're settling in. ...As well as you can, at any rate. If I may ask, I would like to know from all of you, even those who have been here longer than I, what was going on in the world before you found yourselves here.

Yes. I enjoy this change of season the most, I think.

I like summer as much as anyone else, but this summer was kind of... [uh. weird? terrible?] It was really busy.

It was, wasn't it? ...Nothing was ever quite right with it.

There was always something going on! And now all these New Feathers coming in, and there are so many of them, too!

So many that we know personally, too.

Yeah! They were coming every other day! Can you believe it, Nephry? [And she'll just be grinning here. They were all disappearing one by one and so many of them come back in a flood. Anise sure can't believe it.]

Not quite, I think. ...And the Fon Master remembers being here before.

He does! Isn't that weird? None of the others remember a thing about Luceti, either!

I'm pretty sure that Luke comes from an earlier point in time. So he wouldn't remember.

[But Ion...well.]

Yeah... Natalia was talking about Eldrant, and I think the Colonel's sort of from the same time he was, last time he came. Even if he doesn't remember Luceti. Or something like that, anyway.

Geez, this never gets any less confusing...

To be honest with you, I'm a little worried about what might happen when Luke and the Fon Master speak to each other.

Oh yeah... Does that mean we can't tell Luke about... about stuff that happens in the future?

I don't know. If it came up, I would ask for his preference first. Maybe he doesn't want to know.

.... Yeah. Knowing stuff that hasn't happened to you is kind of hard to swallow. [Speaking from personal experience here.]

You were asking about what we remember, right? From before we came to Luceti?

Yes. I don't want to say anything by mistake.

Mmkay. That makes sense.

[Pauses to think for a moment.] We were on our way to the Radiation Gate, after dropping Florian off at Daath. I was in the Albiore one moment, and then I woke up here.

[Nephry looks over - and slightly down - at her with surprise. She thought Anise was from the same time...and it's so strange to know when, exactly, that was. Because her other self knew.]

I see. ...So are there things you know that you really shouldn't, because of those of us who exist later on?

... Yeah. I mean... Um. Guy told me. About Asch. And Luke.

It must have been hard to hear.

... I bet anything it was harder for Guy to tell me. [She'd been saying how awesome the future must be, after beating the Commandant, and all of them making it. It must have been much harder for Guy.]

[It's more hesitant than it might have been a month ago, but have a hand resting lightly on your back]

I wouldn't worry too much about it. He clearly thought you should know, even if it was hard on both of you.

[Doesn't make it any easier, though.]

I guess... and he said that Luke promised he'd come back. So I shouldn't worry at all.

[Not going to tell you that two years later there's still no word of Luke's return. A smile will do, instead.]

With friends like you to believe in him, I don't see why he wouldn't want to keep his promise.

[Just nodding in agreement.]

Exactly. So it'll be okay. [Because just the thought of losing someone else...]
