[Ion stays that way for a while longer, even after his tears have run dry. It's only once Nephry starts blinking out of his vision that he realizes he should probably move somewhere he can rest. His previous attempt at escaping hadn't been a lie, after all. Even without the events of today, this was his first time using such a complicated Daathic fonic arte in awhile.]
[He slowly pulls his arms away and leans back, looking up at Nephry with a frown. His eyes were still bright red from crying.]
...could you help me up? I... think I need to lie down.
[Physically, mentally, emotionally, all of it. Nephry helps him stand; he's not going any further than the sofa. There is little chance of him making it up the stairs.]
[He knows well enough that he's not going to make it up the stairs. He's still rather unsteady, even with help, so it takes a bit of effort to get him to the couch. He moves from sitting to laying down almost instantly. His eyes feel heavy... he probably won't be awake for long at this rate.]
[But he keeps hie eyes opened and focused on Nephry even when he's lying down. He can't muster the words for it, but it's a silent plea for something he's asked for plenty of times in the past: Stay here until I fall asleep.]
[The only response she'll get is a very slight nod. Then, with a soft sigh, he closes his eyes and sinks back into the couch. It won't be a restful sleep, but it'll be sleep, and at least that will give his mind a much-needed break.]
[Ion will go on sleeping for quite a few hours, not waking until much later in the night. By then the house is already more or less dark, and though he can't see a clock to verify, he's certain it's the middle of the night. He wants to just go back to sleep, but now that he's awake, his mind isn't letting him. And so, he sits up and pulls his knees up to his chest, waiting to get tired...]
[But in the end, all he was waiting for was morning. When Nephry wakes up, she'll find him in the same spot he's been all night, knees pulled up to his chest and wings laid down against his shoulders like a small green blanket. But at least by now, he appears to have fallen asleep.]
[This isn't what she expected to find. The note she left for him sits untouched on the side table.
Please wake me if you need anything.
And here he is asleep, sitting up - so he must have woken sometime - and looking quite alone. She picks up the blanket from where it has fallen onto the floor, draping it around him again.]
[Need anything implies to him that there's something he actually needs -- aside from, perhaps, company.]
[He hasn't been sleeping very soundly, especially given how he was sitting. He looks up quickly with a soft gasp when he feels the blanket being draped over him, eyes wide and very much awake.]

She'll still be there when he's done all the crying he can.]

I'll wake you if I hear any more news about Luke or Guy.
[Until then, she'll sit here on the edge of the couch beside him, hoping he doesn't become ill on top of this, or because of it.]

...I think I've slept enough for now.
[Though he's still not making any effort to get up either.]
